The Hop and Grain Recipe Database

This database has been set up to provide an easily searchable repository of recipes for homebrewers. A number of excellent sources currently exist, however many of the recipes are contained in long threads in forums and are not categorised in any way.

Our aim is to provide a comprehensive collection of recipes for all styles of ales which can be easily searched based on any reasonable criteria.

In order to get the best from the recipes in our database we advise hombrew enthusiasts to use our recipe formulator to tailor recipes to their individual brewhouse efficiencies and ingredients (hop alpha acid, grain extract potential etc...). The formulator is also very useful for designing your own recipes from scratch and can save a lot of time working out complicated IBU and Gravity calculations. When you've finished working on a recipe you can now save it and reload it at a later date, or share the recipe file with others.

In addition to the recipes and tools contained on our site there is a vast number of recipe books, brewing guides, and other useful publications available to homebrew enthusiasts. We have set up an online bookshop in partnership with Amazon which includes a selection of some of the most useful publications on the market. All purchases from the shop are made through Amazon's secure online checkout.

This site is not for profit and any proceeds from advertising or commission on booksales go towards running, maintenance and development costs. We are always happy to receive feedback from users so please feel free to contact us with any ideas which you feel may help to improve the site or with any general comments. You can email directly on brewmaster@hopandgrain.com or use our Contact page.
